Ben East | European Championships

Team Kennet’s Ben East produced another strong performance on the international stage, representing Great Britain & Northern Ireland in the Men’s Javelin at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Competing in Qualification Group B, Ben recorded a best throw of 78.77m, placing him 5th in his qualification group.

With the results from both groups combined, Ben finished an excellent 13th overall in Europe, narrowly missing out on a place in the 12-man European Championship final by just 11 centimetres.

Finland’s Topi Parviainen secured the final qualifying position with 78.88m, demonstrating just how fine the margins were, with Ben only one place away from progressing.

Another excellent performance from Ben at a major senior international championship and a fantastic achievement to see a Team Kennet athlete representing Great Britain on the European stage.

Congratulations Ben from everyone at Team Kennet.
