Turkay Throws Lifetime Best to Finish Fourth at England Athletics Championships!


Team Kennet athlete Turkay Altuntas produced the performance of his career at the England Athletics Age Group Championships, throwing a superb personal best of 53.41m to finish an outstanding 4th in the Under-18 Men’s Discus.

Competing against the very best young discus throwers from across England, Turkay delivered a series of impressive throws before producing his lifetime best of 53.41m. His mark left him just 52cm shy of the bronze medal in one of the highest-quality Under-18 discus competitions of the season.

The standard of the event was exceptional, with the top four athletes all throwing beyond 53 metres, highlighting just how competitive the championship was. Turkay’s new personal best not only secured a top-four national finish but also established him as one of the country’s leading young discus throwers.

Making the achievement even more remarkable, Turkay is a first-year Under-18 athlete, competing against many athletes in the older year of the age group. To produce a lifetime best on one of the biggest domestic stages of the season is a testament to the dedication and hard work he has put into his training.

This latest performance continues what has already been an outstanding year for Turkay, who has represented Turkey internationally and continues to make his mark on both the national and international stage.

Turkay Has been training hard and working alone side Team Kennet’s throws coach Cheryl Angell who has been working with Both Turkay and his younger brother Berkay for many years now. and the hard work and dedication is clearly showing.

Everyone at Team Kennet is incredibly proud of Turkay’s achievement. A 53.41m personal best and a 4th-place finish at the England Athletics Championships is a fantastic result and another significant milestone in his rapidly developing athletics career.
