Team Kennet Take QuadKids Victory at Tilsley

Team Kennet’s young athletes produced a fantastic team performance at Match 3 of the Oxfordshire Track & Field League QuadKids competition, held at Tilsley on Sunday 6 September, taking the overall match victory alongside a host of excellent individual performances and seven new club records.
The QuadKids format sees athletes compete across the 75m, 600m, Long Jump and Vortex Throw, with points from each event contributing towards their individual total and the team competition.
Team Kennet finished the meeting with 2,856 points and 26 match points, taking 1st place overall ahead of Oxford City AC, who finished with 2,839 points and 22 match points. Team Kennet also won three of the four age-group competitions, with victories for the U10 Girls, U12 Girls and U12 Boys.
The U10 Girls enjoyed a superb competition, winning their age group with 607 points.
Gracie Williams led the way with 177 points to finish 2nd overall, recording 12.3 in the 75m, 2:09.3 over 600m, 2.88m in the long jump and 19.11m in the Vortex. It was an outstanding day for Gracie, with her performances in the 75m, 600m and Long Jump all setting new Team Kennet U10 Girls club records.
Annabelle Jones finished 4th overall with 168 points, recording 12.5, 2:10.3, 2.78m and 17.96m across her four events.
Isabella Harte finished 5th overall with 140 points, highlighted by a 27.11m Vortex Throw, improving her own Team Kennet U10 Girls club record of 26.35m.
Isabella Dearns completed the U10 Girls team with 122 points and 10th overall, including a strong 12.7 in the 75m.
Team Kennet had just one competitor in the U10 Boys, but Louis Corbin produced an excellent individual performance to finish 4th overall with 196 points.
Louis ran 11.6 in the 75m, 2:25.4 in the 600m, jumped 3.39m and threw 24.83m in the Vortex. His 11.6 75m also established a new Team Kennet U10 Boys club record, improving Rory Ridler’s previous mark of 11.7.
With Louis the club’s only athlete in the age group, Team Kennet finished seventh in the U10 Boys team competition.
The U12 Girls produced another outstanding team performance, taking 1st place with 992 points.
Leading the way was Praiya Foreman, who won the individual competition with an excellent 296 points. Praiya recorded 11.2 in the 75m, 1:47.8 in the 600m, 4.14m in the long jump and an outstanding 41.04m in the Vortex.
Her Vortex throw improved the previous Team Kennet U12 Girls record of 40.77m, while her 296-point total also established a new club QuadKids points record, improving her own previous mark of 295.
Matilda Saunders made it a superb Team Kennet one-two, finishing 2nd overall with 260 points, recording 11.4, 1:54.8, 3.71m and 34.55m.
There was plenty of depth behind them. Marlie-Jai Proctor and Florence Randall Bird both scored 218 points to finish joint 6th, while Ines Field was 8th with 215 points.
Hazel Balch finished 11th with 200 points, Isabella Chapman was 13th with 189, while Maya Larkin completed the Team Kennet U12 Girls contingent with 112 points.
The U12 Boys completed Team Kennet’s trio of age-group victories, taking 1st place with an impressive 1,061 points.
Chester Bailey won the individual competition with 289 points, recording 11.1 in the 75m, 1:47.6 in the 600m, 3.87m in the long jump and 41.70m in the Vortex. His total finished just one point short of the existing Team Kennet U12 Boys QuadKids points record.
Harvey Baker made it another Team Kennet one-two, finishing 2nd overall with 267 points, including an excellent 48.78m Vortex Throw.
Lenny Wyvill finished 4th overall with 259 points, followed by Percy Reed in 5th with 246 and Matthew Jones in 6th with 245.
William Winter finished 9th with 238 points, Alexander Browning 12th with 230, Idris Gaye 24th with 206, Joesph Hill 26th with 203, Zac Skelton 28th with 200 and James Rehill 33rd with 192.
It was also a memorable meeting for the Team Kennet record books, with seven club records improved across the competition. Gracie Williams set new U10 Girls marks in the 75m (12.3), 600m (2:09.3) and Long Jump (2.88m), while Isabella Harte improved the U10 Girls Vortex record to 27.11m. Louis Corbin lowered the U10 Boys 75m record to 11.6, and Praiya Foreman set new U12 Girls records in the Vortex with 41.04m and QuadKids points with 296.
With victories in the U10 Girls, U12 Girls and U12 Boys competitions, Team Kennet accumulated 2,856 points and 26 match points to win Match 3 overall, just 17 competition points ahead of Oxford City AC.
A fantastic day for Team Kennet’s young athletes, with three age-group team victories, individual wins for Praiya Foreman and Chester Bailey, seven new club records and the overall QuadKids Match 3 victory.
