Chester Wins Double European Gold in Madeira!

Team Kennet’s Chester Bailey has returned from the European Biathle Championships in Madeira, Portugal with an outstanding haul of medals after an unforgettable week representing Great Britain.
Competing against Europe’s very best young athletes, Chester produced a superb performance in the Individual European Championship, battling all the way to the finish to claim the Silver Medal. In one of the closest finishes of the championships, he narrowly missed out on the European title, with the Portuguese winner crossing the line less than one second ahead.
His impressive individual performance also played a key role in helping Great Britain secure the Team Gold Medal, making it a fantastic start to the championships.
The celebrations continued the following day in the Mixed Duo Relay, where Chester and his GB teammate delivered a dominant display to become European Champions. Chester crossed the finish line almost 10 seconds clear of the field, gaining perfect revenge over the athlete who had narrowly beaten him the day before.

Across the week, Chester showed incredible determination, resilience and sportsmanship while proudly representing both Great Britain and Team Kennet on the European stage.
As well as bringing home an incredible collection of medals, the championships provided unforgettable experiences, new friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
