Ben East opened his season in impressive fashion, securing victory in the men’s javelin with a best throw of 74.04 metres.

Competing in difficult conditions, with persistent heavy rain affecting the runway and grip, East showed strong control and composure throughout. Despite the wet weather, he managed to deliver a consistent series and produce a winning mark to kick off his campaign.

A very solid early-season performance, particularly given the conditions, and a promising sign for the competitions ahead.
