Team Kennet Athletics & Triathlon Club
Cross Country Results
The club cross country championships are decided across league matches and events during the cross country season. The final championship positions will be determined at the end of the season.
Scoring Rules
Leagues
Juniors score points from competing in the Basingstoke Junior Cross Country League. Seniors score points from competing in the Oxfordshire Cross Country League. Every athlete receives 3 points for each match that they compete in.
The first Team Kennet runner home in each race scores 15 points, the second 14 points and so on. At the end of the season, the best 3 out of 4 (junior) or 4 out of 5 (senior) performances are taken and added to the championship points.
Standalone Events
For U13 to Senior athletes, an additional 5 points are available for competing in each of the BBO, Berkshire County Championships, Hampshire County Championships and the SEAA Championships.
Other Rules
- Athletes that have competed in three or more races are eligible to receive awards.
- If the athlete has to withdraw for any reason, the result is recorded as ‘dnf’ (did not finish) and the points are still applied.
- Juniors do not score points for competing in the Oxfordshire Cross Country League. The only exception to this is if matches are rearranged and there is a clash with the Basingstoke League, in which case equivalent points will be awarded to those athletes who choose to compete in the Oxfordshire League instead.
- If the final results show a tie then initially the performance in the spare league race will be taken into consideration, followed by where the athletes have raced head to head, to decide the final positions.
