Wessex League Match 4 – Quadkids

Team Kennet Quad kids were in action again at the Wessex YA League held in Aldershot in the Military Stadium.
The weather was touch and go from midday with thunderstorms brewing but it didn’t stop the Young TK athletes from winning the match overall

The TK girls made it 20 straight wins in a row and have secured their league title for the third season in a row, by scoring 822 points on the day, Matilda Saunders finished 2nd best girl on the day clocking 12.07 in the 75m sprint, she lept a huge 3.71 in the long jump and her 600m 1.59.64 , but with bad weather for the vortex throw Matilda was way down on her normal distance could only get a 17.89 throw in as she kept slipping.
Olivia Kwit came 3rd best girl overall, clocking 12.2 in the 75m, she also had a huge long jump of 3.74 and clocked fastest 600m of the day 1.58.24, and threw just over 17m in the vortex. The clubs fastest Sprinter on the day came from Hazel Balch in 12.0.
Darcy Scaplehorn was the clubs best Vortex thrower of over 25m. Innes Field lept 3.52 in the Long jump best of her events as she came 5th girls overall, and Marlie Jai-Proctor was 6th girl overall t oshow the depth of the girls.
Other girls taking part were Darcy McCurtin, Cecily Wyer, Evelyn Barker and Flo Randell Bird.
The Boys were just beaten in to second place by just 2pts, on the day scoring 919 points to Andover’s 921, Harvey Baker came 2nd boy overall his four events looking very strong with a 11.5 in the 75m, 3.36 in the Long Jump, a massive 41.43 in the Vortex and a 2.10 in the 600m hitting 242 points as an individual.
Chester Bailey came 3rd overall in the boys his 600m was his best event 1.53.21 and throwing over 31m in the vortex. His 600m broke the club record!
Alexander Browning was the clubs fastest sprinter on the day with 11.4, Percy Reed was the clubs best Long Jumper of 3.44 as the boys had their scoring 4 in the top 9
Other boys taking part were Lenny Wyvill 600m 1.58.57 his best event, William Moloney, Eoin Fussell, Seb Lauder-Clarke, Jacob Keeley
The overall team League combined with the Girls and Boys has put the club into top spot, with one of the teams having one match left going to be close in the league tables.
