Schools Athletics Championships

14 club athletes represented at the Berkshire Schools Championships to claim places for the English schools’ championships next month.

In total 9 medals were won from Team Kennet athletes

Two athletes have achieved English Schools qualifying performances so congratulations to Oscar Hook winning the Junior hammer 39.89 and Harriet Saunders winning the Junior 1500m in 4.45.4. 

There were also gold medals won by Kenechi Akosa in the inter 200m 22.9 in heat and 23.3.  Will McDonald in the inter Javelin 44.03m. 

Silver medals were won by Rueben Kuijten in the Junior Discus 29.89, Theo Nightingale Inter High Jump 1.82 and Isabel Payne Junior Long jump 4.73.

Bronze Medals were won by Noah Lauder Clarke in Junior Javelin 38.02, Olivia Bentley in junior 800m 2.24.4, Well done to the rest in taking part Junior boys Triple jump Josh Brain 5th 10.14, Junior girls High Jump Jess McCurtin 8th 1.25, Inter Girls High Jump Hannah Taylor 4th 1.45, Inter Girls Discus Suki Humphrey’s 4th 21.30 and Zoe Dickson 5th 20.51.

In the Wiltshire Schools Athletics Championships Emerald Hill-Sawyer participated in the Junior girls Long Jump finishing 2nd place with a 4.70m jump and will qualify for the South West Schools Track and Field Championships this weekend.
