Team Kennet were in action in the second round of the Division 3 West Southern Athletics League at Swindon on Sunday.
A small squad came away with a third place with some outstanding performances, Luke Angell getting Athlete of the Match as he won his Javelin with a throw of 60.32m, and was backed up well by Brandon Carter winning the B string 39.66. Another Double win came in the Discus with Oliver Ford 34.44 and Harry Booker 34.39.
A welcome return from Oliver Bazin saw him win the Triple Jump 11.24, he came 2nd in the long jump with 5.73 and Jon Simpson won the B string with 5.13.
There were two 2nd places from Oliver Ford 10.32 and Harry booker 9.76 in the Shot, and in the Hammer Seb Simpson came 2nd A string 29.68 and Oliver Ford winning the B string 21.10 as the throwers only dropped 3 points.
The high Jump Booker came 2nd with 1.60 and Euan Avery cleared 1.55 to win the B string, on the track Avery 12.7 and Jon Simpson both were placed 3rd in the 100m.
Best result in the womens section came in the Discus Annabel Maclean 23.80 and Cheryl Angell 15.42 were 2nd and 3rd placed. Angell had a busy afternoon coming 4th in the A string Shot and 3rd in the A string hammer, in the Javelin Eve Brown had to settle for 4th A string 23.40, Maclean came 4th in the A Long jump.
On the track Brown came 3rd in the 400m A string 64.2 and Maclean 3rd B string 67.0, in the 800m 3rd places from Brown 2.28.1 and Alanna smith 2.42.4.
