International Athletes

A number of Team Kennet athletes have achieved international honours over the years.

English Schools – Home County Vest

Jessica Harrison – represented Great Britain at junior and senior level and France in World Championships and at the Beijing Olympic Games (2008) where she was 12th and at the London Olympic Games (2012) where she was 9th.
Chris Treacher – represented Great Britain in age group triathlon in 2012 in New Zealand.
Margaret Smith – represented Great Britain in the World Biathle Championships – Monaco and South Africa 2008 and 2009.
Natalie Thomas – represented Great Britain in the World Biathle Championships – Monaco and South Africa 2008 and 2009.
Mark Shepherd – has represented Wales in Ultra Distance Marathons since 2007 and Great Britain in Age Group Duathlon since 2010 at both European and World Championships, also representing Scotland in 2009.
Sonja Kabirschke – represented Great Britain in World Age Group Triathlon in Budapest 2010.
Annette Morris – was in the British Endurance Squad and competed in the European Ironman Championships in Germany in 1995, earning team bronze with a 10h50m finish. Later that year she qualified for the Hawaii Ironman via Lanzarote.
Kevin Harvey – represented Great Britain in age group triathlon in the 1990s.
Bart Kujiten – represented New Zealand in World Age Group Triathlon in London, September 2013.
John Mariott – represented Great Britain in World Age Group Triathlon in London, September 2013.
Luke Angell – won his England vest in 2014, competing in the Javelin (U20) at the Welsh International Championships in Cardiff, earning bronze. Made a second international appearance at the Pihtipudas Javelin Carnival in Finland (2022) representing GBR.
George Anstie – represented England in the 2015 CPISRA World Games in Nottingham, winning silver.
Nathan Gillis – represented Great Britain Juniors at 800m in the 2016 Manchester International.
Sam Hart – earned his England vest as an U17 athlete in the 2017 Home Nations Cross Country, later representing Great Britain in Junior Triathlon at the European Championships, taking bronze.
Carolyn Craik – made her Great Britain debut in the World Age Group Triathlon Championships, Canada (2017), winning the Vet 50 age group.
Simon Whatson – represented Great Britain in World Age Group Triathlon in Switzerland, 2019.
Gavin McLaughlin – represented Great Britain in World Age Group Triathlon in Switzerland, 2019.
Ben East – represented Great Britain in 2022 (Javelin, U21) in Colombia.
Nick Burdett – represented Great Britain at the 2024 European Age Group Biathle Championships in Madeira.
Elodie Burdett – represented Great Britain at the 2024 European Age Group Biathle Championships in Madeira, earning Bronze (Individual), Gold (Team), and Gold (Mixed Relay).
Andy Colling – GB Vest in the Vet 60 World Cross Country Championships, 2024.

British Championships

Ben East – Senior Men’s Javelin (72.97) Champion 2023.
English Schools – Home County Vest.
Stuart Bladon – Octathlon (U17), 2017.

Honours in Other Sports

George Rossiter – represented Great Britain in Rowing, 2009.
Charlie Estcourt – Wales Women’s Football debut, 2015.
Anouk Mauree – England Show Jumping Team, 2017.
Carys Cox – England Women’s Rugby, 2018. Made her Wales debut in 2023.
Annabel Chaffey – GB Junior Bobsleigh, 2015.
William Joseph – England Rugby, 2022.
Charlotte (Lottie) Absolom – Junior GB Weightlifter and Record Holder.
